Pupils' Achievements

Barlborough Hall School pupils are very talented in all they achieve at the school. We are aware that many pupils succeed outside of school and these achievements are just as good so we would like to promote these aswell.

If you as a parent have a story and some images about your child succeeding in a hobby or activity that you think would make a good news piece for the website or newsletter, email these to Lucy Stirling at . Thank you.

The Leader Project

Bolsover North East Derbyshire LEADER project

Barlborough Hall have completed a successful grant application to the BNED LEADER Approach, part of the Rural Development Programme for England 2007 - 13. Barlborough Hall is a Grade 1 listed Elizabethan country house set in 300 acres of Grade 11 listed parkland. The project has two elements :

Element One – the production of a comprehensive Management Plan encompassing the grounds. This is to facilitate future management and development. The plan involved carrying out a survey, mapping of the key habitats, productionof reports and digital maps.

Element two – the commissioning of the production of a Conservation Plan for Barlborough Hall. This will enable us to manage the conservation of the Hall.

The Rural Development Programme for England is funded by European Union(EU) and the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs(Defra).

Welcome to Barlborough Hall School website

Barlborough Hall School is a vibrant co-educational preparatory school in the Catholic tradition, welcoming and catering for the needs of children aged 3-11 from all denominations in a truly ecumenical and happy environment.

Barlborough Hall School started in 1939 and is set in beautiful surroundings on the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire borders. Only a few miles away is Mount St Mary’s, the senior school to Barlborough Hall School for children aged 11-18, founded in 1842 by Fr Randall Lythgoe, the Provincial Superior of the Society of Jesus.

Both schools are under the trusteeship of the Society of Jesus, more often known as the Jesuits. Our ethos and vision allows us to provide every opportunity for a quality, seamless education, developing the whole child to encourage creativity, diversity and individuality so that our pupils mature and move onto secondary education as confident, balanced and responsible young men and women.

We warmly welcome you to visit our school and see for yourself.
